Puchta Foundational Exercises

Puchta Foundational Exercises (PFE) is a therapeutic exercise program created by osteopath Andrzej Puchta. In 2020, I assisted Andrzej in developing PFE and have since taught the program in Canada, Poland, Germany, the UK and the United States. The exercises improves awareness, proprioception and posture. They can be performed at home in between classes and treatment sessions. PFE is based on five principles:

  • The pelvis is the main building block,

  • Alignment of the lower and upper end of the spine,

  • The integral relationship among body parts,

  • Oppositional forces, and

  • The relationship between breath and movement.
